The reason to look past Cloudbeds is rarely the feature list, which is broad and mostly works. In my experience it comes down to three things. The pricing for the tier you actually need is still behind a sales call. The interface belongs to about 2023, and for a company with $253 million raised, that says something about where the engineering is going. And there's what a colleague in Porto called the support cliff: the dedicated attention during onboarding evaporates once you're live and you become a ticket in a queue. Worth being fair on one point, since it's the thing people assume: data residency is not the problem here. What is the best alternative to Cloudbeds?

It depends which part is bothering you. If it's cost, Amenitiz publishes a full price grid and comes in at a fraction of what Cloudbeds charges, though its toolset is built for properties under about 30 rooms. If it's the dated interface and you want a European vendor in your own time zone, Mews and RoomRaccoon both beat it on design. If you want an open API rather than an all-in-one box, Apaleo is the one to look at.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Cloudbeds?

Yes, and the gap is not marginal. At my 80-room property the Cloudbeds One plan works out around $4,200 a year. Amenitiz publishes three tiers between €42 and €125 a month, which lands nearer €1,500 a year, and Noovy charges €5 per room per month against a €95 monthly minimum. The honest caveat is that both are built for simpler operations, so run your own awkward scenarios before you switch on price alone.

Is there a European alternative to Cloudbeds?

Several, and the practical difference is less about data residency than about time zones and product direction. Cloudbeds hosts EU data in the EU, so compliance is not the issue. But the core product team sits in California, which means a critical issue reported at 9am Amsterdam time gets seen at midnight San Diego time, and feature requests follow American business cycles. Mews in Amsterdam, RoomRaccoon in Breda and Clock PMS+ all remove that particular friction.
