Flexkeeping alternatives
Looking for an alternative to Flexkeeping (7/10)? We've paid for and run it and 7 other housekeeping tools at our own hotels. Below is an honest side-by-side of the alternatives, ranked by how we rated them. For the full story on any one, read its review. If the sticking point is cost, our Flexkeeping pricing breakdown lays out what you'd actually pay.
A real alternative to Flexkeeping, for me, is not just another housekeeping app. It is one whose future I can predict and whose integrations I can build on. Flexkeeping is the best housekeeping tool I have tested, but it now sits inside Mews, it publishes no API documentation, and its PMS sync is weaker on third-party systems than I want. So the honest reasons to look elsewhere are strategic, not functional: you run a non-Mews PMS, you need an open API, or you cannot accept that the best features may ship as Mews-native first. The housekeeping tools below are where I would look. hotelkit is the established European competitor, broader in scope and, unlike Flexkeeping, it publishes integration documentation; Actabl has more breadth for large US management companies, with PE ownership and US jurisdiction attached. Choose on how much integration control your group needs, not on the demo.

Hotelkit
Hotelkit was built in Salzburg by a hotelier who got frustrated running his own 50-room property. Bootstrapped, Austrian-owned, 4,000+ hotels. I tested it across my three Austrian properties. The sovereignty story is real. So are the weak spots.
- Best for
- Multi-property hotel groups wanting a European operations platform with strong housekeeping and internal communication
- HQ
- Austria (Salzburg)
- Pricing
- One-time setup fee + monthly licence, not publicly disclosed. Positioned below category average.

Hoxell
Hoxell is Swiss, built by a real hotelier, and keeps your data under European law. I read the DPA before I looked at the room status dashboard. Here's what I found.
- Best for
- European hotels wanting digitised housekeeping operations with Swiss data jurisdiction
- HQ
- Switzerland (Lugano)
- Pricing
- Custom pricing, requires sales call

Optii Solutions
Optii claims its AI route optimisation can cut housekeeping labour costs by 18%. I tested it at my 80-room Amsterdam property with a spreadsheet in one hand and a stopwatch in the other.
- Best for
- Mid-sized European hotels with iPhone-equipped housekeeping teams and labour cost as their biggest controllable expense
- HQ
- USA (Austin, Texas)
- Pricing
- Custom pricing, requires sales call (typically per-room, per-month)

Sweeply
I handed Sweeply to Nikos and Katerina and watched. The colour-coded boards made sense to both of them inside twenty minutes. But the reporting left me wanting, and I still don't know many small hotels using it.
- Best for
- Hotels with multilingual or seasonal staff wanting visual, simple housekeeping management
- HQ
- Iceland (Reykjavik)
- Pricing
- Modular pricing, 30-day free trial; Guest Connect from €1/room/month

RoomChecking
I tested RoomChecking across my three English properties because the flexibility promise sounded right for multi-property operations. Some of that promise held up. Some of it didn't survive contact with a Tuesday morning housekeeping briefing.
- Best for
- European boutique and mid-scale hotels wanting configurable housekeeping workflows
- HQ
- France (Paris)
- Pricing
- From $199/month (~$2.50/room/month)

Actabl
Actabl is a private equity roll-up of four separate hotel tech companies, headquartered in Florida, backed by a PE firm managing $18.8 billion. The labour management tools are strong. Everything else is a sovereignty and integration problem dressed up in enterprise marketing.
- Best for
- Large US hotel management companies wanting labour, BI, and operations under one PE-backed roof
- HQ
- United States (Oldsmar, Florida)
- Pricing
- Custom pricing, requires sales call (ALICE ~$6,000/user/year; Hotel Effectiveness from $99/month)

Breezeway
A colleague recommended Breezeway for housekeeping. The scheduling works, the mobile app is decent, but the whole product thinks in vacation rentals, not hotel rooms. My staff could use it, but they shouldn't have to.
- Best for
- Vacation rental and short-term rental property managers with 10–200+ properties
- HQ
- USA (Boston)
- Pricing
- $19.99/property/month for small portfolios; custom for 5+ units
Common questions
What is the best alternative to Flexkeeping?
For a hotel group running a non-Mews PMS, hotelkit is the safer bet: European, longer independent, broader in scope, and it publishes integration documentation. Flexkeeping is arguably the better pure housekeeping tool, so if you run Mews the calculation flips in its favour. For large US management companies, Actabl bundles labour and BI on top, at the cost of PE ownership and US data jurisdiction.
Is there a Flexkeeping alternative with a public API?
That is the exact question I started with, because Flexkeeping publishes no API documentation. hotelkit is more open on integrations and documents them, though it is not a full developer platform either. If a documented, extensible API is a hard requirement for your group, test that specifically before you commit, because in this category it is the exception, not the rule.
What is Flexkeeping and what does it do?
Flexkeeping is a housekeeping and hotel operations platform founded in Ljubljana in 2012, covering room assignments, cleaning schedules, task management, maintenance, interdepartmental messaging and analytics, plus a voice-based AI task feature called Flexie. It runs housekeeping for groups like WestCord, Strawberry and Palace Resorts. Mews acquired it in September 2025, which is the main thing to weigh if you are not already a Mews hotel.
