A rare pair where both publish pricing. HiJiffy runs from €99 a month for Basic at roughly €3 to €5 per room; askng.it is €4.50 per room on Standard with an €80 minimum, and bundles two proactive touchpoints per reservation where HiJiffy leaves WhatsApp costs to you. At most room counts they land close enough that price is not the deciding factor.
The real difference is structural. askng.it is proactive, getting ahead of the arrival-time and late-checkout questions rather than waiting in an inbox for them, and it runs on Mistral rather than routing guest conversations through a US model. HiJiffy is reactive but far more proven, with ten years behind it, references you can find, and support that fixed James's dropped WhatsApp connection in a couple of hours. HiJiffy's dashboard is ugly and its AI needs a month of correction; askng.it has no public API documentation and not one independent hotelier review anywhere.

- Free €0
- A real free tier rather than a trial with a countdown on it, which is rare enough in this category to be worth stating plainly.
- Standard €4.50/room/month, €80 minimum
- The tier most properties will land on. At my 80 rooms that's €360 a month, and the minimum only bites below about 18 rooms.
- Premium €7.50/room/month, €120 minimum
- €600 a month at my size. The step up needs to earn that €240 difference against your own numbers, not against the feature grid.
Published per-room rates with the minimums stated, which is what I want from a vendor and don't often get. Do the arithmetic at your own room count before you look at the tier comparison, because per-room pricing rewards small properties and punishes larger ones: the same product costs my 80-room hotel €4,320 a year on Standard. Then add WhatsApp conversation costs, which sit outside the subscription and depend on your volume and markets.

HiJiffy publishes more than it did and it costs more to start than we said. The good half: four tiers, three of them with figures, quoted in euros, dollars and sterling, and rates that scale with property count. The half our review missed entirely: a setup fee on every paid tier, €99 on Basic, €399 on Pro and €599 on Premium, charged per five properties. On Premium that is €599 before a single message reaches a guest. James was right that HiJiffy publishes its tiers without a demo call, and that still stands. Our own first-year figure was too low.

askng.it is, for all practical purposes, a new product: the February 2026 rebuild of Lacoly, which I ran for a year and rated a 4. I tested the new one in March at my 80-room Amsterdam hotel. It is a different animal, and it earns an 8.

HiJiffy
I didn't think my smallest property, a 45-room boutique in the Cotswolds, was the right place to trial an AI chatbot on WhatsApp. Three months later, my front desk staff disagree with me less often than they used to, which is how I know it's working.
