chatlyn vs HiJiffy
The facts side by side, what each one costs tier by tier, and which of the two we'd pick. Both have been paid for and run at a working European hotel.
The short version
Both land on 7/10 overall, so the choice comes down to fit rather than our scores.
chatlyn is built for european hotels wanting privacy-first omnichannel messaging. HiJiffy is built for mid-to-large European hotels wanting WhatsApp automation.
Which we'd pick
chatlyn if OTA inboxes matter, HiJiffy if track record and support do.
Two European messaging tools at 7 apiece, and the choice comes down to one feature and one risk. chatlyn pulls Airbnb and Booking.com messages into the same inbox as WhatsApp, and was the only tool Anna tested doing it. Runnr.ai has since added Booking.com, Airbnb and Expedia, so the argument is weaker than it was, but chatlyn still does it and HiJiffy does not.
HiJiffy has the longer record: 2016, references you can check, and support that fixed a dropped WhatsApp connection within hours. Pricing is published from €99 a month at roughly €3 to €5 per room, while chatlyn withdrew its published tiers in 2026 and now quotes per room with WhatsApp metered on top, so you cannot compare the two without contacting Vienna. chatlyn is three years old, will not name its EU hosting provider publicly despite the privacy-first positioning, and has 1,000-plus properties yet nobody willing to vouch in public. HiJiffy's dashboard is ugly, its AI struggles with compound messages, and Meta verification is a two-week ordeal.

What each one costs
chatlyn pricing
- Per-room platform fee Quote only
- Calculated per room across every property in the agreement, with the per-room rate falling as the portfolio grows. You reach it through a calculator that wants your room count and PMS, or by ringing Vienna. Until 2026 this was a published flat tier grid.
- Setup fee One-off, per property, quote only
- New since our review. The figure varies with the PMS connection type and whether implementation is remote or on site, and it is not published in any form.
- WhatsApp usage Charged on top
- One WhatsApp inbox is included; additional inboxes cost extra. Unlimited team members with no per-agent fee and no AI usage fee, which is the part chatlyn does still state plainly.
chatlyn withdrew its published pricing during 2026. What our review recorded, flat tiers from around €61 a month for Light up to €311 for Advanced, is no longer on the site, and a per-property setup fee has appeared that we never had to account for. The company defends the change on its own pricing page: it says the honest answer depends on your rooms, your PMS and how implementation runs, and it would rather quote against your actual setup than publish a number most properties would have to correct. That is a better argument than most vendors bother making. It still means you cannot compare chatlyn against a rival without handing over your details first.
HiJiffy pricing
- Basic From €99/month, plus €99 setup per 5 properties
- FAQ automation covering 25 topics in 3 languages. The €99 monthly figure is the one our review recorded; the setup fee is not.
- Pro From €159/month, plus €399 setup per 5 properties
- Adds the generative AI chatbot with unlimited topics and 132 languages, and the omnichannel inbox.
- Premium From €319/month, plus €599 setup per 5 properties
- Adds the AI concierge with PMS and CRM integration, and WhatsApp campaigns.
- Enterprise Custom
- Custom campaigns, FAQs, channels and integrations, and HiJiffy branding removed.
HiJiffy publishes more than it did and it costs more to start than we said. The good half: four tiers, three of them with figures, quoted in euros, dollars and sterling, and rates that scale with property count. The half our review missed entirely: a setup fee on every paid tier, €99 on Basic, €399 on Pro and €599 on Premium, charged per five properties. On Premium that is €599 before a single message reaches a guest. James was right that HiJiffy publishes its tiers without a demo call, and that still stands. Our own first-year figure was too low.
Prices as last verified during each review. Hotel software pricing moves, and per-room rates behave very differently at 20 rooms and at 200, so run the arithmetic at your own room count. Full detail on chatlyn pricing and HiJiffy pricing.

chatlyn
chatlyn is Austrian, EU-hosted, and does omnichannel messaging with a privacy posture that holds up under scrutiny. The product is young, and it shows in places. But the foundations are right.

HiJiffy
I didn't think my smallest property, a 45-room boutique in the Cotswolds, was the right place to trial an AI chatbot on WhatsApp. Three months later, my front desk staff disagree with me less often than they used to, which is how I know it's working.
