A reservation database used by hotel groups to manage availability and bookings across multiple properties.

A central reservation system holds inventory and rates centrally for hotel chains and groups, distributing them outward to OTAs, GDS, and direct channels. For independent single-property hotels, the PMS typically plays this role. The distinction matters mostly above ten or fifteen properties.
